My walk down memory lane continues as I am sorting through photos captured last summer. Today’s feature image was taken in mid-July 2012 at sunset. The sky was overcast all day, heavy with smoke from the forest fires that were burning in Alberta and Northern Saskatchewan. Our group never expected to capture such striking imagery when we set up tripods along the country road overlooking vast canola fields in bloom.
Just as the sun approached the horizon it became visible as a blood red fire ball through the low cloud adding drama to the landscape. Opportunities for unique photo moments arose throughout the week, especially early and late in the day.
The Flickr set represents a very small collection of the close up and landscape images captured with the camera.
