It’s time to share some exciting news: What happens when the mercury hits its lowest point (- 60 C with windchill!) in Saskatchewan during February? I get a bad case of cabin fever! What is the best remedy for cabin fever? Taking a trip to warmer climates…
Nice thought, but not an option for me as I have numerous commitments close to home. The next best thing to physical travel for me is to embark on a journey of learning. I had been looking at a diploma course with The Photography Institute for a little over a year. February 27th I took the plunge… I signed up and was immediately enrolled in this challenging online program. My main goal was to learn more about the technical aspects of the camera. And learn I did! I was hooked on knowledge, and once an assignment was submitted I immediately downloaded the next module to find out what the topic might be. I am sure you can tell that it was a fabulous experience!
Last week I finally narrowed down images for the final assignment, a portfolio of six of my best images. It was tough to hit that submit button. Luckily I didn’t have to wait long. My tutor didn’t disappoint.Throughout the course I received feedback within hours of submitting each assignment, and after less than an hour I had my mark, a perfect 10/10 with helpful suggestions about where to go from here.
Here is the portfolio I submitted. I hope you enjoy the images. I can’t wait to receive my diploma in the mail… and no, I didn’t get a perfect score throughout. I had to work hard for my 93 % overall mark.
