As we ring in 2015 I would like to take the opportunity to wish all my blog visitors and loyal followers a Happy New Year! Health, Happiness and Prosperity as we travel the world… I can’t wait to see where life takes us in 2015! Thank you for your support during 2014. Anna
No words are necessary when presenting the last stop of our Christmas Market Marathon from December 18th, 2014. All I want to share is that each year the beautiful mountain town of Berchtesgaden offers a charming Advent Market with traditional food and drink, hand crafted ornaments and a special atmosphere. I would venture a guess that just by looking at the images here you can detect that faint scent of Gluehwein…
Keep the fires burning everyone – Christmas and Advent Markets may have closed their booths but the memories will live with us forever. Hope everyone had a great Christmas!
Hellbrunn, a southern suburb of Salzburg and well known for its zoo and pleasure palace is a popular destination during the pre-Christmas Season. The second stop on our Christmas Market Marathon last week sets the mood for December 25th. Color, candle light, reflections, handcrafted ornaments, the scent of roasted chestnuts and sugared almonds “sprinkled”with music and children’s sounds of delight.
Just last Thursday we embarked on a Christmas Market marathon… St. Wolfgang in the Salzkammergut was out first stop. The rain was gently falling (we still did not find snow in our travels) but the spirit was high. Imagine, no crowds, friendly smiles, no pressure and gentle zither music accompanying our stroll through this authentic “Christkindlmarkt”.
Enjoy your tour of the market in this 40 image slide show – please allow a little time to load, it’s worth the extra wait!
